2009. gada janvārī ASV kompānija TNT sāka pārraidīt TV seriālu par reklāmniekiem. Interesanti, ka jaudas pietika tikai vienai sezonai (13 epizodēm). Taču, kā atzīst kanāla atbildīgās amatpersonas – seriāls ir izdevies visai kreatīvs, bet tikai neizdevās atrast tai atbilstošo auditoriju.

No vienas puses, tas ir saprotams, ka ne visi uztver reklāmistu ikdienas darbu un problēmu atspoguļojumu – jo īpaši, ja paklausās tekstus par to, ka klients ir idiots, kā top kampaņas pēdējā brīdī, kā klienti sačakarē labas un kreatīvas idejas, un tādā garā.

Radošajās industrijās strādājošajiem cilvēkiem šīs sērijas varētu likties interesantas. Ehhhh, kādi tur klientu budžeti – piemēram, mobilais operators ar account USD 75 mio vērtībā, alus reklāmas budžets USD 45 mio vērtībā! Jā, tur ar dažādām metodēm klientus var pārvilināt un pārpirkt – ir reāla motivācija.

Ai, un tad dažas radošās sakritības. Piemēram, pirmajā epizodē džeki gatavo kampaņu klientam – mobilajam operatoram, un vienā no versijām izskan arī doma par Super-Varoni kā kampaņas tēlu (redzams pat reklāmas rullītī – tas džeks ar A burtu)… haha! :D Ai, vēl viena radošā sakritība par mobilā operatora video klipu – cilvēka “izlidošana” caur stikliem apspriežu zālē (valdes sēdes laikā). “Uz zoba” paķerta viena no starptautiskajām lielajām reklāmas aģentūrām (ļoti atpazīstams 3-burtu nosaukums) – kurā klients iesmej par “ass kissing during presentation” trīs stundu garumā. Manuprāt, superīgi laba ideja par Product Placement visās TV sērijās.

Katrā ziņā “99 franki” francūžu izpildījumā ir daudz skarbāks skatījums uz šo tēmu. Bet, amīšiem, protams, mēs piedodam, par ‘maigo pieeju’, jo netika pieminēta zālītes iepīpēšana, ievērota toleranta attieksme pret geju tēmu, taču varētu apsvērt iespēju iesūdzēt par rasismu, jo vadošajos amatos bija tikai baltie cilvēki. Ai, jā, viens melnais bija Account Manager, bet to veiksmīgi pārpirka konkurenti kādā no pirmajām sērijām un neviens par to neskuma (izņemot akcionārus, jo viņš aizgāja kopā ar 75 mio accountu).

  • Trust Me: TNT TV Series Cancelled, No Season Two

    To little surprise, TNT has cancelled their low-rated drama, Trust Me. Despite having two former network stars as the show’s leads, the series never took off.

    Trust Me revolves around a fictional Chicago ad agency. Tom Cavanagh and Eric McCormack play co-workers and friends whose relationship changes when one of them gets promoted. Others in the cast include Geoffrey Arend, Sarah Clarke, Mike Damus, Griffin Dunne, and Monica Potter.

    The show debuted on January 26th of this year, following TNT’s successful The Closer. It attracted 3.4 million viewers, losing about half of its lead-in’s audience. The second episode dropped to just 1.9 million viewers and things got worse from there. The network began airing episodes in double doses by mid-March and the last two installments ran on April 7th.

    McCormack obviously saw the writing on the wall and signed on to a new ABC pilot last month. Now, TNT has made it official, announcing that Trust Me won’t be returning for a second year.

    The network’s executive VP and head of programming, Michael Wright, believes that Trust Me was a creative success but just couldn’t find an audience.
